Why furniture needs cleaning in this climate
Two things work against furniture in the UAE. Fine desert dust enters continuously and settles into fabric, seams and the gaps behind cabinets, and air-conditioned humidity creates conditions where dust mites and bacteria multiply inside soft materials.
Neither is visible. A mattress or a dining chair can look perfectly clean while holding years of accumulated skin cells, body oils and mite debris below the surface. Vacuuming lifts the top layer and nothing more.
Mattress cleaning and dust mites
A mattress is the most heavily used item in any home, in direct skin contact for roughly a third of every day. Over the years it absorbs perspiration and sheds skin cells, and that becomes a food source for dust mites.
The mites themselves are harmless. Their waste is the allergen, and it is a documented trigger for asthma, eczema and allergic rhinitis. If someone in the house wakes congested, sneezing or with itchy eyes and improves during the day, the mattress is a reasonable place to look.
We deep clean and sanitise mattresses of all sizes, treating the surface layers where mites live rather than simply cleaning the cover. It reduces the problem substantially; it does not sterilise a mattress permanently, which is why we recommend repeating it every 6 to 12 months.
Office chairs — the item nobody cleans
Office chairs take eight hours of continuous contact every working day and are almost never cleaned in their entire service life. Body oils build up in headrests and armrests, fabric and mesh collect dust, and when several people share a chair across shifts it becomes a genuine hygiene question rather than a cosmetic one.
We clean office seating on site, normally in the evening or at a weekend so the chairs are dry before staff return.
Dining chairs, headboards and upholstered furniture
Dining chairs absorb food, drink and grease and sit through every meal. Upholstered headboards collect hair products and body oils in a concentrated band where people lean back. Both are routinely missed in regular cleaning because neither looks dirty from a distance.
We clean fabric, leather and mesh, matching the method to the material and testing for colour-fastness first.
Wardrobes, cabinets and storage
The inside of a wardrobe is where fine dust settles undisturbed, and the gap behind and underneath is where it compacts. That is the usual source of the musty smell in a bedroom that otherwise seems clean, and of dust reappearing on clothes within days of being put away.
We clean inside, behind and underneath storage furniture. It is also a standard part of a move-in or move-out deep clean, when wardrobes are empty and fully accessible.
Wood, leather and delicate finishes
Hard furniture needs care rather than cleaning force. Wood surfaces lose their finish to the wrong product, and leather dries and cracks in constant air conditioning unless it is conditioned after cleaning.
We use appropriate products by material and condition leather as part of the job rather than as an extra — on leather, cleaning without conditioning fixes the visible problem and leaves the one that actually ends the furniture's life.
Where this fits with our other services
Furniture rarely needs cleaning in isolation. Sofas and majlis seating are covered by our sofa and upholstery cleaning service, which uses larger extraction equipment, and most clients book both as a single visit.
Dust also moves between surfaces, so cleaned furniture in a room with dirty carpet re-soils quickly — carpet cleaning is usually done at the same time. How we price furniture and mattress cleaning
We price by item and condition — number of mattresses and their sizes, number of chairs, and the storage furniture involved. Send photographs on WhatsApp for an indicative price, or we survey on site. The quote is fixed before any work begins.
Booking furniture, mattresses, sofas and carpets together in one visit is cheaper than separate appointments and gives a result that lasts longer, because nothing is left to re-contaminate what has been cleaned.
