Sofa & Upholstery Cleaning in Dubai & Across the UAE

Upholstery absorbs everything a room carries — body oils, dust, food, smoke and humidity — and holds it deep in the foam where vacuuming never reaches. Green Horizon deep cleans sofas, majlis seating, armchairs, dining chairs and...

What builds up inside upholstery

A sofa absorbs the room. Body oils transfer from skin and hair into headrests and armrests, food and drink soak into the foam, and airborne dust settles into the weave and is pushed deeper every time someone sits down. None of it is visible until the fabric has darkened in the places people actually touch.

Vacuuming removes loose surface dust and nothing else. The material that causes odour and wear sits below the surface, bound into the fibre and the foam, and only comes out with extraction or a proper low-moisture treatment.

Majlis and traditional seating

Majlis seating is the hardest upholstery job in this market and the most commonly neglected. The cushions are large, heavy and rarely lifted, floor seating sits directly on carpet that collects everything dropped on it, and the whole arrangement takes concentrated use during gatherings.

We clean the covers, the cushions themselves and the floor area underneath — the part that is normally missed, and usually where the odour is coming from.

Fabric, leather and delicate materials

Getting the method right matters more than the machine. The same treatment that deep cleans a hard-wearing synthetic will shrink linen, flatten velvet or leave water marks on silk.

  • Synthetic fabrics: hot-water extraction, the deepest available clean, drying in two to six hours
  • Natural fabrics (linen, cotton, viscose blends): low-moisture methods to avoid shrinkage and water marking
  • Velvet and delicate weaves: dry or very low-moisture treatment with careful pile grooming afterwards
  • Leather: pH-balanced cleaner followed by conditioning — never water extraction

We check the fabric code and test colour-fastness in a hidden area before anything is applied. This is the step rental machines and general cleaners skip, and it is the cause of most of the shrinkage, bleeding and water-marked upholstery we get called in to correct.

Leather in UAE air conditioning

Leather here has a specific problem. Constant air conditioning pulls moisture out of the hide, and over a few years it stiffens and cracks along the seams and seat fronts where it flexes most. Once the surface has cracked, no cleaning will restore it.

Conditioning after cleaning replaces those oils. For leather, cleaning without conditioning solves the visible problem and leaves the one that actually ends the sofa's life.

Mattress cleaning and allergies

Mattresses collect sweat, skin cells and dust mites, and in humid conditions that becomes a genuine trigger for asthma, eczema and allergic rhinitis. It is not a cosmetic issue — people spend a third of their lives in direct contact with it.

We deep clean and sanitise mattresses of every size, and it is normally booked together with sofa cleaning since both are part of the same problem in bedrooms and guest rooms.

Offices, hotels and waiting areas

Commercial upholstery wears in a concentrated way: reception sofas, waiting-room chairs, restaurant banquettes and hotel lobby seating take continuous use from different people all day. Fabric that looks acceptable from across the room often tells a different story at arm's length — which is the distance your customers actually see it from.

We work evenings, nights and weekends so seating is dry and back in service before opening.

Cleaning soft furnishings as a system

Dust moves between surfaces, so cleaning one item in a room gives a result that does not last. Sofa cleaning is almost always booked with carpet cleaning, because the carpet underneath holds the same dust that resettles on freshly cleaned upholstery within days.

The same applies to the air. Soft furnishings are the largest dust reservoir in any room, and if the ductwork is dirty they re-soil noticeably faster — which is why many clients combine this with AC duct cleaning. Upholstery cleaning is also included in our deep cleaning packages for handovers and move-ins.

How we price sofa cleaning

We price by the number and type of seats and the condition of the fabric, confirmed before we start. A three-seater in light use and a majlis arrangement that has not been cleaned in three years are different jobs, and a single flat rate would misprice both.

Send photographs on WhatsApp for an indicative price, or we survey on site. Either way the quote is fixed before any work begins.

Our process

How we deliver a spotless result

01

Inspect & test

We check the fabric code, the filling and the frame, and test colour-fastness in a hidden area. Velvet, silk, linen and leather each need a different approach.

02

Dry soil removal

Cushions are lifted and every crevice vacuumed. Dust and grit are removed dry, before any moisture turns them into staining.

03

Pre-treat

Headrests, armrests and seat fronts — where body oils concentrate — are pre-sprayed and gently agitated so soil releases from the fibre.

04

Deep clean

Hot-water extraction for most fabrics, low-moisture for delicate ones, and dedicated cleaner and conditioner for leather.

05

Sanitise & deodorise

Anti-bacterial treatment is worked through the foam, where odour actually lives, rather than sprayed across the surface.

06

Groom & dry

The pile is groomed and air movers are set so the upholstery dries evenly, normally within two to six hours.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does a sofa take to dry?
Two to six hours for most fabrics in an air-conditioned room, and less for leather or low-moisture cleaning. We set air movers before leaving. If you need the seating usable sooner, tell us at booking and we will choose a lower-moisture method.
How often should sofas be cleaned?
Every 6 to 12 months for a family home, and every 3 to 6 months for majlis seating, offices, hotel lobbies and waiting areas. Upholstery that is used daily holds body oils in the headrests and armrests long before the fabric looks dirty.
Can you clean leather sofas?
Yes. Leather is cleaned with a dedicated pH-balanced cleaner and then conditioned, never with water extraction. In UAE air conditioning leather dries out and cracks at the seams, so conditioning matters as much as the cleaning.
Do you clean majlis seating?
Yes, and it is one of our most requested jobs. Majlis seating takes heavy use with large fixed cushions and floor seating that rarely gets lifted, so dust and crumbs collect underneath. We clean the covers, the cushions and the floor beneath them.
Can you remove stains and odours?
Most of them. Food, drink, body oil, ink and pet marks all respond to the right treatment. Odour needs the source treated inside the foam rather than fragrance on the surface. We are honest at the survey about what will lift fully, what will improve and what has permanently dyed the fibre.
Do you clean mattresses too?
Yes. Mattresses collect sweat, skin cells and dust mites, which matters for anyone with asthma or allergies. We deep clean and sanitise mattresses of all sizes, and it is usually booked alongside sofa cleaning.
Is the treatment safe for children, pets and allergy sufferers?
Yes. We use eco-friendly products approved for residential use and rinse so no residue stays in the fabric. Tell us about allergies or sensitivities at the survey and we will adjust what we use.
Do you have female staff and do you work weekends?
Female staff are available on request for villas, apartments and majlis areas. We work evenings and weekends across all seven emirates at no extra cost, with same-day appointments available.
