How often should water tanks be cleaned in Dubai?
Dubai Municipality recommends cleaning and disinfecting water tanks at least twice a year, for homes and commercial buildings alike. UAE heat accelerates bacterial and algae growth in stored water, which is why the interval here is shorter than in cooler climates.
Clean sooner than scheduled after plumbing or construction work, after any contamination event, if the tank lid has been damaged, or if anyone in the building has repeated stomach upsets that could be water-related.
